Do you have enough passion in your life? Passion is the difference between working as a manager and being a manager & leader. Passion differentiates between who we are, not just what you do.
Passion is the energy that keeps us going, that keeps us filled with meaning, happiness, excitement, and anticipation. In short, it is the driving force behind our success and the happiness that allows us all to live better lives.
So if someone is lagging passion at the current stage of their life, can that person learn to bring passion into his/her life?
Delhi’s top Psychologist and Counsellor Shivani Misri Sadhoo says yes, it is possible for an individual to learn to bring passion in life. And the best way to learn passion is to understand what passionate people do differently in life.
1. Passionate people are positively obsessed with the work they do. In other words, passionate people can be explained by the quote, “Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” Hence no matter how much their work demand increases, they rarely feel depressed, sad & exhausted because they love doing their work and their work inspires them and makes them happy.
It’s true in India, people rarely get the opportunity to work on the subjects and area that they are passionate about. But it’s never too late to follow your heart, to choose to be an entrepreneur or a writer or a Chef or a painter or whatever you have dreamt about. Check the possibilities and initiate, maybe it’s possible to start the work and do it simultaneously with your existing job.
2. Passionate people don’t waste time. You will rarely find passionate people watching television serial or wasting time on unproductive things. In their leisure time they generally do things that add to their emotional and physical well-being like reading, travel, sports, going to the gym and socialize (that helps them in their professional networking)
3. Passionate people are positive. They are solution oriented and put much of their efforts on solving a challenge rather than sit and crib about it.
4. Passionate people don’t do things half-heartedly. They generally do detailed research, pre-analysis, planning, survey etc. before starting anything. But once they start, they don’t stop till the task is finished.
