For a bride, it is not easy to contain her tears when she also, knows that even though her wedding is a big occasion but she has to leave her parent’s house where once she ruled every heart like a princess.
Suddenly, the thought of leaving her parent’s home forever and starting a new journey in a completely new environment is enough for the brides-to-be to have the occasional burst of tears even though they are planning to celebrate the biggest event of their lives, which is quite obvious, but if you’re feeling a little too stressed out and cannot feel like being at ease with yourself while planning for your big day.
In this article, Delhi's top marriage counselor and relationship expert Shivani Misri Sadhoo talks about 6 ways to beat pre-wedding blues every bride should know.
Get Organised
Well, there are a whole lot of activities to do before the big day, and the castoffs of works can be quite devastating. It's best to pen down with listing these tasks. Then tackle these tasks one at a time; replace dull tasks with exciting ones. Feel free to delegate and on completion of each task, reward yourself.
Get Good Sleep
Your bed is not to be considered as a place to do thinking on preparations of seating plans and other arrangements. Before you hit on your bed, divide your worries into two parts, one that you can do something about and second those which you can’t. Take a bath before hitting the bed, listen to some serene & relaxing music or read something which can keep your thinking, not about the big event.
Be Active
Exercise is considered to be having a good effect on the body and mind. Burning calories helps you feel calmer, agile, and able to deal with stress levels. Follow exercise regime that you can enjoy regularly, like taking your dog on a walk, swimming or playing badminton– you’ll feel the difference.
Don’t Bottle Things Up
When you have mixed & confused feelings, stressed & depressed? You should let it go, share with your close friends. Consider sharing it with your friend, or a family member. Often it can make a big difference when someone listens.
Take A Regular Break
Take a break & more importantly, take regular breaks. Going on walks after dinner, or watch a movie or catching up with old friends. Also, take time out from your wedding planning while sticking to its schedule, still take time out for yourself.
Live In The Moment
While you’re caught up in planning and preoccupied with your own list of pre-wedding tasks, don’t forget to pay attention to the things that are old but beautiful around you. With the presence of your mind focusing on living in the moment will make you feel positive & lightened. Every day, take some time out of busy schedule & sit still for a few moments in meditative posture & try listening to the surrounding sounds, see how your body feels and take slow deeper breaths. Stay calm and live at the moment.
